Dayton REALTORS® is pleased to announce the slate of candidates for the upcoming election for the Board of Directors and Treasurer for the term commencing January 1, 2019. Voting for these candidates begins Wednesday, October 17 and will conclude on Wednesday, October 24 at midnight. The results of the election will be announced at the Membership Luncheon on Thursday, October 25.

Treasurer Candidate

Sharon Geier

Sharon has been a licensed REALTOR® since 1986. She began this second career at Hearth Realty in Greene County. After retiring from teaching in 2004, she brought her license to the Irongate Beavercreek office and now works from the Mall office. Throughout the years Sharon has been, and continues to be, actively involved at various levels in the real estate industry: serving on and chairing committees at the Board; serving in numerous leadership positions within the Women’s Council of REALTORS® both locally and at the state level; serving as a Director with Dayton REALTORS® as well as at Ohio REALTORS®; becoming an RPAC Major Investor. Sharon believes in the importance of giving back, supporting and serving in the real estate community, as well as contributing to the larger community in which REALTORS® make their living. Sharon welcomes this opportunity for continued involvement, representing and supporting the membership of the local REALTOR® association. Fun things Sharon loves: time with family and friends; golf; music/concerts; travel.

Greg Blatt

As a real estate veteran of over three decades, Greg has developed a vast array of knowledge within the industry. His expertise spans residential and commercial/investment brokerage. Over the past 28 years, Greg has owned and operated two thriving real estate companies in the Dayton area. Greg is a current Director and has served on numerous committees at Dayton REALTORS® such as: Legislative, Government Affairs, Global Alliance, MLS, Professional Standards and Education. Most recently, Greg was appointed to two Presidential Task Forces regarding the Board’s Constitution and MLS policy/procedures. Greg currently represents Dayton REALTORS® as an OAR Trustee and also serves on numerous OAR Committees mirroring those he serves on at Dayton REALTORS®. In 2018, Greg was appointed to an Ohio REALTORS® Presidential Task force regarding Global Real Estate. Greg is keenly aware of the numerous challenges putting pressure on our industry from outside sources such as third-party aggregators and the imposition of Federal and State Regulation. Greg is willing to work hard for you to ensure the REALTOR® remains THE Voice of Real Estate.

Mary Buddendeck (f.k.a. Mary Kirkendall)

Mary is a Senior Sales Associate with Coldwell Banker Heritage where she has been a REALTOR® since 2008. She was licensed in 1997. Living the adage: “If you enjoy what you do, you will find that you never have to work a day in your life”, Mary has excelled in real estate because she enjoys the work and people. She has a great sense of humor, enthusiasm, and strong faith. Mary is married to husband David, and is blessed to be mother to four children and stepmother to David’s four children. After serving for years on the Membership Services Committee, New REALTOR® Forum, and Equal Opportunity and Diversity Committees (including chairing committees), Mary is seeking to serve the membership as a Director. She is known by her colleagues as an approachable advocate, leader, and team player… not just in real estate but in life. Mary is a Sales Award recipient, a yearly RPAC contributor, and Habitat for Humanity volunteer. Additional community service includes church Ministry Council, food pantry volunteer, and PFLAG Dayton Board Member.

Pat Corle

Patricia (Pat) Corle, CRS, ePro, GRI, MRP, SRES, has been an agent since 1994. She has taught prelicensing classes at Hondros, has been a manager, mentor, coach and is currently the Co-owner / managing partner with her husband Clyde Corle of Home Experts Realty.  She has earned the Sales Leaders Club several years for both Dayton and Ohio REALTORS®.  Pat has consistently volunteered her service to Dayton REALTORS® membership by serving on several committees as a member, Vice Chair, Chair, and most recently the President’s MLS Task Force.  In addition to her service to the Dayton REALTORS®, Pat has been a member of the Miami Valley Fair Housing Center and the Women’s Council of REALTORS® since 1996, also serving as their Membership Chair. Pat’s commitment to excellence, honesty, passion and love of the business is apparent. Her goal is to give every agent, whether with a large or small brokerage, a voice in their board and do what is in the best interest of them.

Sheila Crane

Sheila is a Realtor/Community Development Specialist and joined the Dayton Area Board of REALTORS in January 1994.  Having worked in new home construction since 1988, Sheila quickly adapted in residential and commercial sales and in 2010, she became certified in Construction Management.  Having served on Dayton REALTORS® committees DARPAC and Professional Development Advisory Group, Sheila also chaired EO&D; Sheila chaired Ohio REALTORS®’ EO&D and served on the 2016 OR Executive Committee and as an OR Director for several years. While working on a Doctoral in Urban Ministry & Community Development, Sheila continues to serve as a Housing Consultant; it was working with Montgomery County’ PIC: Prostitution Intervention Collaborative, Sheila became aware of the horrors of human trafficking.  Working with Abolition Ohio (University of Dayton) with the Ohio Attorney General Human Trafficking Commission and Soroptimist International – Dayton, Sheila advocates for the 1,078* American born Ohio youth that will enter into sexual servitude each year. In addition, Sheila serves on the Montgomery County Land Reultilization Corporation (Land Bank) and Montgomery County Planning Commission.

Karen O’Grady
Karen O’Grady is a 3rd generation Daytonian and 2017 President of the Dayton Area Board of REALTORS® (now Dayton REALTORS®). During her tenure as President, her focus and mantra were “Doing the Right Things on the Path-Road to Professionalism”. Karen currently serves as a Director for the National Association of REALTORS® and is on the Executive Committee for Dayton REALTORS®. She has served as DABR President Elect and Treasurer in 2015 and 2016. She is a Dayton Ambassador Graduate and a graduate of the first Leadership Development Program in 2016. Karen has served on the Forms Committee, as past Chairman of the Grievance committee and is a current member of the Professional Standards Committee. As such, she understands that an effective Association is one that recognizes the importance of committing to the common interests of all members and believes in a strong, active, professional Board. Karen O’Grady is asking for your vote to continue her focus and commitment to member representation and sustaining high professional standards for Dayton REALTORS®.

Jeff Owens

Jeff Owen’s experience comes from 30 Years as a REALTOR®, licensed with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Big Hill all 30 Years. He is active in local, state and national associations, including as a current Director for Dayton REALTORS®. He is also a member of the NAR MLS committee, several state committees, member of Delaware Board of REALTORS® and Past-President, Member of the Lancaster Board of REALTORS® and Current MLS Director, Member of the Richmond ( Indiana) Association of REALTORS® and current director. Being an owner and president of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Big Hill, he sees the big picture through coaching, training and problem solving with almost 300 agents. He is also connected with national trends by attending events like Inman Connect in New York and the annual Zillow Broker event. The expectations of REALTORS® are changing at lightning speed, and we need someone who is watching the trends and can help keep Dayton REALTORS® in front of them.

Deb Sasser

Deb is an Associate Partner/Broker with Coldwell Banker Heritage and the manager of their Vandalia office. She has previously served on the Dayton REALTORS® Board of Directors, the OAR Board of Directors, the OAR Executive Committee and is a past-president of the Women’s Council of REALTORS®. She has served as the chairman of several committees at the state and local level. In 2013 Deb was voted Salesperson of the Year for Dayton REALTORS®. Deb also teaches real estate pre and post license classes at Hondros. She truly enjoys helping new agents learn and grow in the business. To make sure that she offers her best to those that she works with and teaches, Deb continually keeps herself up to date with the new and exciting trends in the industry and the changes that directly affect our business. She is an advocate for the real estate community and takes her profession very seriously. As an agent, broker, and manager she has a balanced understanding and appreciation of the needs of the Dayton REALTORS® membership.

Cyndi Scarpelli

Cyndi considers it an honor to manage the REALTORS® at Sibcy Cline Beavercreek. She just celebrated her 11 year anniversary! Being a mentor and coach to 50 agents is something she loves to do, and feels is very rewarding. Cyndi has had the pleasure of serving at Dayton REALTORS® on many levels; Finance Committee, Chairing Community Service Committee, Grievance & Professional Standards, being on many task force committees, and part of the 1st Leadership Development Program! Serving a prior term as a Director on the local level has allowed her to advocate for our membership. She strives to represent every REALTOR® to the best of her abilities. Serving as a Director with the OAR, she has an open door to voice our concerns. Cyndi believes in the importance of DARPAC, and that every member of Dayton REALTORS® needs someone to advocate on their behalf. Cyndi’s been married to her high school sweetheart, Tom, for over 29 years. Mom to married children; Alyssa (a Chef in NY) and Nick (an A-10 pilot in the USAF).
