On January 14, Dayton REALTORS® announced the recipients of the 2020 Affiliate, Good Neighbor, Rookie, Owner/Manager, and REALTOR® of the Year Awards during the virtual Inauguration and Annual Awards program. They also honored one member with the Distinguished Career Award. Their contributions to the real estate industry, the community, and the REALTOR® organization are greatly appreciated.

Distinguished Career Award – Georgiana Nye, associated with Coldwell Banker Heritage, has been a member of Dayton REALTORS® for 32 years. Her involvement with Dayton REALTORS® began in 1997 as a member of the Holiday Party committee and has continued by serving on many, many more committees over the years. Georgiana’s served on the Board of Directors from 2002 through 2008, including serving as Dayton REALTORS® president in 2007. Georgiana received the Dayton REALTORS®’ REALTOR® of the Year Award in 2004 and was awarded the prestigious Ohio REALTORS® Distinguished Career Award in 2016.

REALTOR® of the Year – Anne Goss, associated with Sibcy Cline REALTORS® has been a member of the REALTOR® organization since 1985 and was a graduate of the Dayton REALTORS® Leadership Development Program in 2013. Anne has chaired or participated on many association committees including Professional Standards, Grievance, Professional Development, Membership Services and Equal Opportunity. For the Ohio REALTORS®, she has served as a director from 2017 through 2020 and also served on Ohio REALTORS®’s committees for Communications, Professional Development, Business Technology Forum and YPN. Her involvement is not limited to Dayton and Ohio REALTORS®, having also served as president of Ohio Women’s Council of REALTORS® in 2018. Anne was awarded both the Dayton and Ohio Women’s Council of REALTORS®’ REALTOR® of the Year awards in 2020.

Affiliate of the Year – Dennis Terry, associated with Home Services Title, has a long history of affiliation with Dayton REALTORS®. Originally a REALTOR® member, Dennis has been an Associate Affiliate member of Dayton REALTORS® since 2016. His committee leadership activity includes serving as chair or vice chair of the Holiday Reception Task force in 2016, 2018 and 2019, in addition to membership on the Special Events and Picnic Task Forces. Additional industry affiliations include membership in the Dayton Mortgage Bankers. Dennis has long-serving community involvement, including coaching for the Special Olympics for 16 seasons and Battle of the Businesses for 20 seasons. A smiling face at the many association functions, a core belief of Dennis is “the more you give, the more you get back”.

REALTOR® Good Neighbor Award – Nickie Moreno, associated with Coldwell Banker Heritage, has been involved with two area community organizations. She received a real estate sales license in 2018 and received the 2020 Dayton REALTORS® Sales Leaders Award of Achievement. The primary focus of Nickie’s community service is St. Patrick’s Soup Kitchen and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Volunteering at St. Patrick’s Soup Kitchen has involved many hours of serving, stocking shelves and planning meals. Of special importance is the planning and preparation of the Christmas Day meal. St. Pats provides a safe and welcoming space for individuals and families to be fed, lifted-up and provided additional information on other assistance. Nickie’s other passion is the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. She has organized and hosted charity events as well as partnered with both local and corporate companies to raise funds. This includes personally raising $15,000 in donations since 2016. Another important aspect is raising awareness for blood cancers and how LLS works to find a cure which Nickie does through sharing valuable information on various media platforms.

In additional to this award, the community organization of her choice will receive a contribution of $250 from Dayton REALTORS® in her name.

Owner/Manager of the Year – Steve Weiser, associated with Keller Williams Advantage Real Estate, has been licensed since 1981, receiving a broker license in 1987. He was a graduate of the Dayton Regional Ambassador program and holds the GRI and DRA certifications or designations. Steve currently participates on the Forms, MLS and Professional Standards committees and has served on the Leadership Credentials and Cincinnati/Dayton Contract Task Forces. For the Ohio REALTORS® he was a director in 2017 and has served on the Ohio REALTORS®’ Professional Development Committee and MLS, Business Technology and Legal Issues forums. In addition to holding the position of principal broker for a large office, Steve also instructs classes for offices and companies. Locally he is actively involved with the Special Wish Foundation and as a board member for the Forest Ridge Association.

Rookie of the Year – Elizabeth Cooper, associated with Home Experts Realty, was licensed in 2019. As a New REALTOR®, Elizabeth achieved over $5 million in sales between October 2019 and September 2020.  This qualified her to also be a 2020 Dayton REALTORS® Sales Leaders Award recipient.

In addition to these awards, the Young Professional Network’s “Top 5 Under 40” Awards were also presented at the reception. The “Top Five Under 40” recognized future leaders of the organization based on community involvement, sales volume, and participation in Dayton REALTORS® activities. The recipients were Zachary Banks with Glasshouse Realty, Brett Sutton with Coldwell Banker Heritage, Amy Stamps with Keller Williams Home Town, Jeremy Johnson with EXP Realty, and Donté R. Scott with Home Experts Realty.
