Dayton REALTORS® Wins NAR Triple Crown Award

Bob JonesGeneral News, government affairs

There is some exciting news to share with our association members today. Dayton REALTORS® was one of 400 Associations nationally to win the prized National Association of REALTORS® Triple Crown Award for RPAC (Realtor® Political Action Committee).

The Triple Crown Award is awarded to a local REALTOR® association who meets or exceeds both the state’s fundraising goal as well as their local fundraising goal. Last year our members’ investments into RPAC totaled over $80,000. This was a great achievement and could not have been accomplished without the hard work and dedication from our RPAC Fundraising Committee members and our Government Affairs team here at Dayton REALTORS®.

“Winning the Triple Crown Award shows that our members’ absolute dedication to being advocates for not only their own businesses, but also the consumers they serve, is stronger than ever,” 2018 Dayton REALTORS® president Bob Morrison said. “With so many threats to our industry coming from a lot of different angles, we must continue to invest in our livelihood and be the true voice for real estate.”

President Morrison, an RPAC Sterling R Major Investor himself, has made a commitment during his year as president to raise the level of commitment across the membership when it comes to RPAC investment.

“Our members need to know that nationally, here in Ohio, and even in our own communities, RPAC is actively saving them money,” Morrison said. “Lobbying efforts are what extended the National Flood Insurance Program. It’s what fought for the Mortgage Interest Deduction. And it’s what again has stopped our state government from putting a tax on services that would directly impact our REALTORS’® pocketbooks.”

The association staff and fundraising committee are now in the planning stages for several events this year where you can make your investment into RPAC and be a part of the lobbying efforts protecting your industry.
