Dayton REALTORS® was recently recognized by the National Association of REALTORS® with the 2017 REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) Triple Crown Award, which recognizes a local association that has excelled in supporting and promoting the REALTOR® Party.

The REALTOR® Party is an alliance of REALTORS® and REALTOR® associations working to advance public policies and candidates that build stronger communities, protect private property interests, and promote a vibrant business environment.

Dayton REALTORS® 2018 president Bob Morrison said that a major goal of his year as president was to raise not only the dollars invested in RPAC, but also educating members about the benefits of RPAC. It impacts not only the REALTORS® business, but also the communities and the clients they serve.

“We must be proactive in every way when it comes to working with our government,” Morrison said. “ Because real estate is such a major part of local, state, and national economies, there are often threats that arise that we must address. REALTORS® are here to champion the American Dream of Homeownership, so we must rally behind and vow to protect it.”

The Triple Crown Award recognizes local associations that have met or exceeded RPAC fundraising and participation goals. Last year Dayton REALTORS® members’ investments into RPAC totaled over $80,000. This was a great achievement and could not have been accomplished without the hard work and dedication from the RPAC Fundraising Committee members and the Government Affairs team at Dayton REALTORS®.

“We are always excited when the message of advocacy sinks in and resonates with our members,” said Andrew Sims, Chief Executive Officer of Dayton REALTORS®. “One of the greatest services that we provide our members is that of being the voice of real estate in our community. We educate our members on the importance of following the progress of their cities and neighborhoods, and we also support public officials at every level of government who share our vision regarding pro-homeownership issues.”
