The Dayton Area Board of REALTORS® Foundation, organized and operated exclusively for educational and charitable purposes, has offered a scholarship program for dependents of DABR Members since 1996. It was then-president Steve Mikula who authored this program. Funds for the establishment of the scholarship are the result of contributions made directly to the Foundation by members of the board. Additionally each year, the Dayton Area Board of REALTORS® makes a contribution from the general fund, to support this scholarship program.
This scholarship was created to assist full‐time student dependents of REALTOR® members of the Dayton Area Board of REALTORS® to complete their undergraduate programs at a degree granting college or university. Scholarships are awarded annually in the amount of $1000.
The DABR Foundation awards Jerry Colp Continuing Education Scholarships from the generous contribution of long time REALTOR® Jerry Colp. Being a REALTOR® for the last 46 years, Mr. Colp has created this opportunity to "give back" to the real estate industry which has been so important to him. The only eligibility requirements for consideration are: timely completing the prescribed application form and being an active REALTOR® member of the board for at least the last two full years as of the date of the application. This is a great opportunity for members who wish to learn and advance in the profession.
