EVENING RECEPTION TO RECOGNIZE SALES LEADERS
As we do each year, the Board is proud to recognize the Sales Leaders Club recipients. To celebrate these achievements, the recipients will be honored at a reception scheduled from 5-7pm on Thursday, January 26th at the REALTORS® Center.
WHAT: Sales Leaders Awards Reception

COST: Free for Award Recipients, $15 for Other Members
The reception is being held to recognize members who have obtained one of five production levels of the Sales Leader Club award program and to announce the recipients of the Owner/Manager, Salesperson, Rookie and Affiliate of the Year awards. The REALTOR® Community Service Award recipient will also be announced.
As we did last year, this year's festivities will be held as an evening reception for the Sales Leaders Club. Many members enjoyed the events held this past year at the REALTORS® Center, and have encouraged us to continue this practice.
Award recipients have been sent a special invitation to the reception with registration information, but you may also register here.

COMMERCIAL / INDUSTRIAL CORNER
If you have a client that is downsizing and will have excess space, one option they can look into with your assistance is to sublease their vacant space. For example, if the lease permits the tenant (your client) to sublet excess space, try listing the space. It could turn out to be a win/win for both the client and yourself!
By the same token, if your client needs to move and is looking for reduced rates and a shorter term, then look for a sublease opportunity for them.

The Dayton Area Board of REALTORS® held their annual Holiday Reception in December at the Mandalay Banquet Center. This festive occasion also served as a fundraiser for the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program. Thanks to the hundreds of members and affiliates who attended, we were able to contribute over $2,000 and 1,000 new toys to this worthy cause. Welcome to 2012!
I am very honored to serve our organization as your 2012 president. As many of us are easing back into the daily work schedule after the holidays, now is a good time to take care of some career chores. Take a moment to visit the MLS and update and verify your profile by clicking on the "Admin" button and selecting "Modify Your Profile". Sometimes we forget to update these as we change companies, get new email addresses, and go about our business.
It's good to start the new year off with some positive real estate news. NAR has reported that existing home sales are up 12.2% from a year ago. Locally, we experienced some sales growth as well during the last half of 2011. Check out the statistics below for the details. All in all, signs point to a more stable market for 2012.
If you haven't checked out the Forms Center lately in the Members Only section of www.dabr.com, we now have a few updated and new forms, including brand-new short sale forms. All the forms were revamped to make them interactive and compatible with iPads and other portable tablets. You can have your clients sign their contract on an iPad at your a showing, then email the contracts immediately to the sellers. Now that's service! To learn how to do that and more with an iPad, attend one of DABR's upcoming ipad classes. There are two this month, so check out the details below.
Finally, our Sales Leaders Reception is being held at the Board on January 26, 2012 from 5-7pm. I look forward to seeing everyone there!
2012 INSTALLATION RECEPTION SET FOR JANUARY 12TH
Join us on Thursday, January 12th, 2012 for the Installation Reception. It's an evening of food, fun, tradition, and ceremony, as the president's gavel is passed from 2011 president Bob Wilson to the incoming 2012 president Anjanette Frye. We will also swear in the new directors of the Board and recognize the accomplishments of the 2011 leadership.
This year the Installation will be held as a reception at the Top of the Market Banquet Center in downtown Dayton from 5:30-8:00pm. Dress for this reception is business casual. Members interested in attending the reception, at a cost of $40 per person, may register below.

DAYTON AREA HOME SALES FIGURES FOR NOVEMBER 2011
Residential and condominium sales reported by the Dayton Area Board of REALTORS®' Multiple Listing Service for November rose in year-over-year comparison for the fifth consecutive month, with 731 sales representing a 12.4% increase compared to last November's 650 sales.
