On January 22nd, the Dayton Area Board of REALTORS® announced the recipients of the 2009 Affiliate, Rookie, Community Service, Salesperson, and Owner/Manager of the Year Awards at the annual Sales Leaders Club Luncheon held at the Dayton Marriott Hotel.  Their contributions to the real estate industry, the community, and the REALTOR® organization are greatly appreciated.

Owner/Manager of the Year

Edmund (Ed) Griffith, Manager of the Irongate, Inc. REALTORS® Centerville office, has been a member of the REALTOR® organization since 1985. Ed has served on the Forms, Professional Standards and Recognition Committees, and has served on the Board of Directors since 2006. At the Ohio Association of REALTORS®, Ed has served as a Director since 2004. He is actively involved with St. Leonard Faith Community as council chair for 2008-2009, Kettering Park Foundation and Centerville Rotary.

Salesperson of the Year

Brent Moore, a sales associate with Prudential One REALTORS®, has been licensed since 1997. He served on the Dayton Area Board of REALTORS® Board of Directors from 2004-2009. Brent has also chaired or served on the Multiple Listing, Grievance, Legislative/RPAC, Professional Standards, Strategic Planning and Technology Committees. In addition to his committee work, Brent teaches the eTM and “Preparing and Presenting the CMA” continuing education classes. He holds the CRS, GRI and e-Pro designations. At the Ohio Association of REALTORS®, Brent has been a member of the Business Technology Forum, MLS Forum and Local Board MLS Chairman committees. He has served as an OAR Director since 2005. Brent’s community involvement includes being a board member of the Midwest Ohio Baseball League and Centerville Baseball League, academic volunteer at Dr. John Hole Elementary school and member of the YMCA Youth Sports Committee.

Affiliates of the Year

Robert (Bob) Logan, affiliated with Ameristate Bancorp, has been a member of the REALTOR® organization since 1998. Bob has been involved with the Dayton Area Board of REALTORS® by serving or chairing on the Professional Development and Education Advisory Group, Forms, Special Events, Holiday Reception, FunFest, and Housing Opportunities committees.  In addition to his committee participation, Bob has developed and presented continuing education classes for REALTORS®.

Elaine Rhoads, affiliated with Union Savings Bank, has been a member of the REALTOR® organization since 2006.  Elaine has been involved with the Dayton Area Board of REALTORS® by serving on the Affiliate Institutions, Housing Opportunities, Membership Services and New REALTOR® Forum committees. Elaine is a member of the Dayton Mortgage Bankers Association and South Metro Chamber of Commerce. She received the DMBA Sales Leader Award in 2003 and 2009. Elaine is actively involved with Community Action Committee, Motorcycle Ohio, Goldwing Road Riders Association and the Southbrook Church Motorcycle group.

REALTOR® Community Service Award

Doug Sorrell, a sales associate with Sibcy Cline, has been actively involved with many civic, service and community organizations in Dayton and across the nation.  As a nationally known Hall of Fame auctioneer, he has donated his time and abilities in Dayton and the Miami Valley to benefit many organizations, including the Women’s Council of REALTORS®, St. Elizabeth Hospital, Miami Valley Hospital, Single Parent Foundation, City of Kettering 50th Anniversary “Start Your Engines” Celebration, Habitat for Humanity, United Way, Easter Seals and Multiple Sclerosis. Doug’s affiliation with the Shriners Hospital for Children goes beyond the auction block as he was treasurer for the Cincinnati Hospital for three years and oversaw annual budgets that exceeded $30 million. As a charity auction specialist, Doug has conducted over 500 events in the last 25 years and was one of the first 50 auctioneers to receive the Benefit Auction Specialist designation by the National Association for North America.

Rookie of the Year

Tracy Burrows, a sales associate with Coldwell Banker Heritage REALTORS®, has been licensed since 2008. A REALTOR® for two years, Tracy has achieved more than $1.2 million in annual sales. In addition to the Rookie of the Year Award, Tracy is a member of the 2009 Dayton Area Board of REALTORS® Sales Leader Club, receiving the First Time Achiever award.
