Board Members Honored at Luncheon

On January 23rd, the Dayton Area Board of REALTORS® announced the recipients of the 2008 Affiliate, Rookie, Community Service, Salesperson, and Owner/Manager of the Year Awards at the annual Sales Leaders Club Luncheon held at the Dayton Marriott Hotel.  Their contributions to the real estate industry, the community, and the REALTOR® organization are greatly appreciated.

Owner/Manager of the Year

Robert (Bob) Wilson, Manager of the Irongate, Inc. REALTORS® Kettering office, has been a member of the REALTOR® organization since 1974, and in 1978 he earned his broker’s license. Bob is currently the chair of the Dayton Area Board of REALTORS® Legislative and REALTORS® Political Action Committee, and also is a member of the Strategic Planning Committee.  Bob has served on the DABR’s Board of Directors for a total of seven years, and in 2008 was elected by the board to serve as treasurer for 2009. He is actively involved with Morningstar Baptist Church, Washington Township Baseball League and as a coach at the Washington Township Recreation Center.

Salesperson of the Year

Dale Berry, a sales associate with Irongate Inc. REALTORS®, has been licensed since 1972. He has served on the Dayton Area Board of REALTORS® Board of Directors from 2002 – 2007, including serving as president in 2006. Dale has also chaired or served on many board committees, including the Equal Opportunity & Diversity, Executive, Finance, Legislative/RPAC, Professional Standards and Strategic Planning committees.  At the Ohio Association of REALTORS®, Dale has been a director since 1999 and served as a member of several committees including Legislative Steering, RPAC Fundraising, and the Legal Issues forum.  Dale’s community involvement includes the American Cancer Society’s Cattle Barron’s’ Ball, Centerville Rotary, Washington Township Zoning Commission, and he was recently appointed to the position of Washington Township Trustee.

Affiliate of the Year

Betty Downing, affiliated with First Mortgage Banc Corp., has been a member of the REALTOR® organization since 1991. Betty has been very involved with the Dayton Area Board by serving on committees and chairing the Affiliate Institutions committee. She is member of the Dayton Mortgage Bankers Association (DMBA) and Ohio Mortgage Bankers Association. Betty was named the Dayton Mortgage Banker Association Affiliate of the Year in 2007 and has received the DMBA Sales Leader Award since 1986. She is actively involved with CommUnity, Bishop Leibold Schools, Miamisburg Boosters and CUSA Courage.

REALTOR® Community Service Award

Lois Sutherland, a sales associate with Irongate, Inc. REALTORS®, has been actively involved with many Dayton area community organizations. She has been on the boards of the Dayton Opera, Dayton Philharmonic, Opera Guild of Dayton, Dayton Ballet, Culture Works, Juvenile Diabetes, Hospice of Dayton, Kettering Children’s Choir and Kettering Medical Center Foundation. Lois has been an organist at Central Christian Church for 51 years. She was honorary chairman of the 2007 American Cancer Society’s Cattle Barron Ball, which raised approximately $135,000. Lois has also co-chaired the Opera Ball, Fashion Show/Brunch and Ballet Ball.

Rookie of the Year

Stephanie Armacost, a sales associate with Prudential One REALTORS® has been licensed since 2006. A REALTOR® for two years, Stephanie has achieved more than $1.2 million in annual sales. In addition to the Rookie of the Year Award, Stephanie is a member of the 2008 Dayton Area Board of REALTORS® Sales Leader Club, receiving the First Time Achiever award.
