Dayton Area Board of Realtors Installs New Officers and Directors
January 9th, 2009 - The Dayton Area Board of Realtors swore in the 2009 officers and directors at the annual Realtors Installation Banquet, held at the Benjamin and Marian Shuster Performing Arts Center on January 8th. The highlight of the event was the inauguration of Harry Vearn as president of the 3000-member association.
Vearn, associated with Irongate Inc. in Beavercreek, has been a member of the Realtor organization for over 28 years. In 2007 he served as DABR treasurer and chairperson of the finance committee, and in 2008 he was elected president-elect and oversaw the strategic planning committee.
“As president, I look forward to getting the word out to the public about housing opportunities in the Dayton area. Even in these economic times, home ownership is a wise investment, particularly now with low interest rates, plenty of inventory, and affordable prices,” Vearn stated during his inauguration.
Other Board officers installed include Deborah McCuiston, president-elect, and Bob Wilson, treasurer. Associated with Coldwell Banker Heritage, McCuiston is a 35-year veteran of the real estate industry, and Wilson, who is a broker/manager with Irongate Inc., has been a Realtor for over 34 years.
Newly elected and re-elected Realtors to the Board of Directors are Ed Griffith and Howard Schumacher, both associated with Irongate Inc.; Mark Kottman, associated with Real Living Realty Services; Deborah Sasser, associated with Coldwell Banker Heritage; and Anjanette Frye, associated with RCF Properties.
Realtors who are serving unexpired terms on the Board of Directors are Lisa Arzate, Nancy Farkas, and Jim Weckesser, associated with Coldwell Banker Heritage; Russell Wiessienger, associated with Irongate Realtors; Brent Moore, associated with Prudential One Realtors, and Sham Reddy, associated with RE/MAX Spirit. Debra White, broker/owner of RE/MAX Resources in Beavercreek and Centerville, will continue to serve on the Board as Immediate Past-President.
