ANNUAL DIRECTOR ELECTIONS OPEN OCTOBER 12
The annual Board of Directors election will once again be held by electronic ballot, making it more convenient and secure to cast a vote. Voting begins October 12th, and each member eligible to vote will receive an e-mail explaining the online voting process. The e-mail will also contain a link to the electronic ballot where you can view the candidates’ biographies and cast your vote (this link is also accessible at www.dabr.com/election).
A member who does not have an e-mail address or does not wish to vote online may come to the DABR office to request a paper ballot during business hours (8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday) from October 12th through October 22nd. The Election Committee will count these ballots and add them to the votes cast electronically. Results of the election will be announced at the 18th Annual Membership Appreciation Luncheon scheduled at the Marriott Hotel on Friday, October 23rd.

CONSTITUTION CHANGES TO BE PUT TO VOTE
At the Membership Appreciation Luncheon scheduled for Friday, October 23, 2009, a number of proposed Constitution changes will come before the membership for approval.
These proposed changes will also be mailed to each member this month. Every member is invited, and encouraged, to attend the Membership Meeting portion of the luncheon.

ARE YOU AN OUTSTANDING ROOKIE? PROVE IT!
The 2009 Rookie of the Year Award application is now available. All REALTOR® members initially licensed between October 1, 2007 and September 30, 2008 are eligible for the 2009 Rookie of the Year award. The criteria to select the Rookie of the Year will be the highest sales dollar volume for the period of October 1, 2008 through September 30, 2009. This period coincides with dates for the 2008-2009 DABR Sales Leaders Club eligibility (see story below for details). Applicants are required to complete and submit an application form, which is available for download below.

JERRY COLP CONTINUING EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE FOR 2010
There could not be a better time to consider applying for the Jerry Colp scholarship. The DABR Foundation will be awarding four scholarships for 2010 from the generous contribution of long time REALTOR® Jerry Colp. Being a REALTOR® for the last 43 years, Mr. Colp has created this opportunity to ”give back” to the real estate industry which has been so important to him. The only eligibility requirements for consideration are: timely completing the prescribed application form and being an active REALTOR® member of the board for at least the last two full years as of the date of the application. This is a great opportunity for members who wish to learn and advance in the profession.
Application for the scholarship can be found in the "Scholarship Opportunities" menu at www.dabr.com/education, or simply click here to download the application. The deadline for submitting applications is on or before November 30th, 2009. Scholarship recipient will be awarded up to $250.00 credit on their DABR account to be used towards registration fees for continuing education classes conducted by the Board in 2010.
SALES LEADERS CLUB DEADLINE - OCTOBER 30
The Recognition Committee has announced that the 2008-2009 DABR Sales Leader Club Award will recognize five levels of production:
- First Time Achiever $1 million or 25 transactions
- Award of Achievement $1.5 million or 38 transactions
- Award of Distinction $2.5 million or 50 transactions
- Award of Excellence $5 million or 75 transactions
- Pinnacle of Performance $7.5 million
Please read all the rules and regulations carefully to ensure proper completion of the application. The complete rules and applications for the Sales Leaders Club can be found here.
The application deadline is October 30, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. Applications received after this time will not be accepted. The 2009 Sales Leader Club awards will be presented at a special Sales Leader Club Recognition Luncheon scheduled at the Marriott Hotel in January 2010.

HELP US HONOR LONG TIME MEMBERS ON OCTOBER 23
Reservations are being accepted for the 18th Annual Membership Appreciation Luncheon, scheduled for Friday, October 23rd at 11:30am at the Dayton Marriott. This luncheon has become one of the most popular events during the year.
The luncheon has always been a festive occasion, and it gives members the chance to recognize fellow REALTORS®, Affiliates, and Associate Affiliates for their many years of dedicated DABR membership. View the list of DABR Honorees.
During the luncheon, the results of the Board of Directors election will be announced. Following the luncheon, the membership is encouraged to attend a special Membership Meeting, where voting for the proposed DABR Constitution changes will be exercised (see article at left for details).
