DO YOU KNOW WHAT THE FOLLOWING PEOPLE HAVE IN COMMON?
Anita Looper, Ronald Getter, Paula DiGennaro, Joseph Martin, Sheila Crane, Beth Adelman, and Lois Sutherland are all REALTORS®, but they also have something else in common—they are recipients of the REALTOR® Community Service Award. In 2005 the Recognition Committee established the REALTOR® Community Service Award to honor a REALTOR® member who has provided outstanding contributions to a civic, service, community organization or a Dayton Area Board of REALTORS® sponsored program. If you know a REALTOR® who is actively involved in your community, why not nominate them for the 2009 REALTOR® Community Service Award? The nomination form may be completed by the nominee or by someone having personal knowledge of the nominee’s community service contributions. A nomination form may be obtained from the Board office, or click here to download it. (The form is also available in the Members Only section, Award Programs of www.dabr.com). Nomination forms must be received at the board office by 5 p.m. September 30, 2009.

lHarry Vearn, 2009 President of The Dayton Area Board of REALTORS®

Driving down Main Street in Dayton, you may have noticed that the times are certainly changing. Dominic's Restaurant is gone, the old NCR building has been converted into the headquarters for the Dayton Daily News, and the intersection of Main and Stewart is undergoing construction as the University of Dayton plans its expansion.

The most recent change on Main Street, however, has happened as a result of all the REALTORS® in the Miami Valley. The DABR office now has large signs on each end of the building. The new DABR logo shines brightly, and the unmistakable design of the REALTOR® "R" logo advertises to the entire community just what this building symbolizes.

DABR buildingThese signs are not a vain attempt to compete with neighboring businesses. Rather, they are a signal flare to the community that reminds them how important our profession is to the health and vitality of this area. The logo may point them to the board's website, but that site, with it's 3,700 visits a day, promotes your business and directs consumers to your door. This helps every member.

Perhaps that's why we've been here, successfully, for 100 years. The board listens to all our members, and makes sure they're doing right by you. With that philosophy in mind, it's easy to believe the board will be here for us for another century.
