IMPORTANT ELECTION INFORMATION:
The annual Board of Directors election will once again be held by electronic ballot, making it convenient and secure to cast a vote.
Voting begins October 3rd, and each member eligible to vote will receive an e-mail explaining the online voting process. The email will also contain a link to the electronic ballot where you can view the candidates’ biographies and cast your vote (this link will also be accessible at www.dabr.com/election).
This year there are nine candidates running for the Board of Directors. Four will be elected to serve three-year terms and one will be elected to serve a one-year term
In order to maintain an accurate election, security measures have been implemented that will allow each member to cast only one ballot. Members will be required to log on to the election site using a unique identifier (which will be included in the October 3rd email) that will let the system know which member has voted. This online system will not record who voted for whom (this information is not stored), only that a vote was cast. Likewise, no DABR member or staff will know who voted for whom.
A member who does not have an email address or does not wish to vote online may come to the DABR office to request a paper ballot during business hours (8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday) from October 3rd through October 12th. Prior to issuing a paper ballot, an authorized DABR staff member will access the online voting system and remove the member’s ability to vote online. Each completed ballot will be placed in an official ballot box. The Election Committee will count these ballots and add them to the votes cast electronically. Results of the election will be announced at the 20th Annual Membership Appreciation Luncheon scheduled at the Marriott Hotel on Thursday, October 13th.
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO
Prior to October 3rd, all members should access their profile on the MLS to confirm that their correct email address is in the system. To access your profile, log on to the MLS, and at the top of the screen select the tab titled "Admin". In the drop-down list is the option to "Modify Your Profile". Select this option, and a screen will appear that will allow contact information to be updated. Once all the information has been changed or verified, click on "save" to store the updated information. Additionally, please take any necessary action to allow your email system to successfully accept emails from www.dabr.com. Click on the link above for complete biographies for each candidate.
